Well, I called it. Back in April I posted that Pleasure Island would be shuttering its night clubs in favor of more family friendly fare. Today The Walt Disney Company made it official. The Disney Blog has the deets and the official details.
Sad news about the Adventurer Club. I really wish they'd keep that one. I think it can keep the Kungaloosh and still shift to a more family friendly entertainment environment.

I went to Pleasure Island around 10 years ago and had a great time. It was some great memories. I was down there when SHAQ was came for his 21st birthday! It was crazy! Some really great times at PI. I finally made it back this year and thought the atmosphere was oddly different and not nearly as good. I was sort of sad by it really. I was talking to someone outside one of the clubs who hadnt been there in a long time and they commented on the same thing. Basically they need to revamp the clubs/bars or start a new strip somewhere. All the family w/ kids traffic coming through to Westside from Disney Downtown hurts it. Time to move on and hopefully one day there will be something like Plesure Island once was since it never will be again.
